I thought it might be useful to write about where our VTOR group is at after six months of being inside Second Life. I actually crossed the six month mark the last day of May and am working toward seven months. The following are my perspective mixed with things I’ve learned along the way from the VTOR group blog entries and feedback during the weekly radio show.

Forser Jessop - seems like he was into SL originally, but has since moved over to WoW. He was looking forward to when LSL could be coded in mono (C#). I haven’t heard much on that front lately. In RL he’s been pretty busy with a new job and making new friends. He is saying something about a trip from Sweden out here to the US in the first part of August. He has started providing live blogging of the weekly radio shows that he has attended here. Good to see a virtual world with live blogging mashup.

JohnnyRS - probably the group’s most experienced adverturer and SL explorer. JohnnyRS has blogged here about some great places and events inside the SL universe. I look forward to reading what he finds and I’ve even run into him at a few events.

Lestat Nosferatu - to my knowledge, Lestat is the only other person in our group besides me that is actively running a business in Second Life so far. He bought into one of the VGI casinos and has been running that for a couple months. When I asked him recently how it was going he responded that he was making a profit.

jvastine - in the beginning I saw a lot of jvastine in world, but I think he’s been hit with computer problems in RL that have caused us not to see as much of him. From what I know of jvastine, he’s scoped out the world and seen a lot that can be done. Will be interesting to hear where he’s at with SL.

Weirdharold - the only one in our group (that I’m aware of anyway) to both get married and divorced within a month of RL time, Weirdharold has also been hit by some problems with SL and his computer. I also know he’s busy with school in RL, so not sure when he’ll be back. It seems, like jvastine, Weirdharold’s current SL status is MIA.

New VTOR Authors
I don’t want to jinx it, so I won’t officially announce our two newest VTOR authors until they’ve actually introduced themselves with new posts. One of them was having challenges getting registered with Blogcharm and the other was out of town and messaged me to say he’d be posting soon. I’ll tease by saying that one of them is an established business owner in Second Life and the other is doing something audio-related.

If you want to make a few extra L$ by becoming an active VTOR blog author, drop me an IM inside Second Life and I’ll share the details with you. All VTOR authors must be Virtual World business owners or interested in learning how to start a business in a virtual world and writing about the experience. Every month so far the traffic and ad income at VTOR blog has increased, so get in on the ground floor, writing and sharing the virtual world business thoughts, experiences, news and events.
