CNET is reporting that Linden Labs has announced receiving 11 million more in funding. One of the points which struck my eye (emphasis mine):

For now, the company isn’t profitable, and it’s not clear when it will be, said Catherine Smith, Linden Lab’s director of marketing. However, she told CNET News.com that Linden Lab plans to use its new funding for aggressive international expansion, as well as for hiring intended to boost its infrastructure.

Profitability is important and if they are planning on hiring more people — going from 75 to 100 — there goes the payroll costs. Though I am still but a newbie resident, I don’t think more Lindens are necessary, I think more money should be spent on incenting creative development and businesses inside the world and adding more features and functionality (recording audio/video anyone?).

What do you think Linden Labs should use this infusion of new capital for?
