New blog promotion ideas

The time has come for our group to start promoting VTOR. This blog now has 30+ posts and enough meat on the bones to start adding to blog directories, traffic generations services and blogging elsewhere. I’ve already added to BlogExplosion (referral) and am sending a little more than 1/3rd of our BE traffic to VTOR. If others in the group have BE accounts and would be willing to share some of their traffic that would be great.

I will be making some posts on other blogs about VTOR soon and encourage others in our group to do the same. Nothing spammy, of course, just explain what we are doing here at VTOR. Hopefully somebody from BE will come along soon and rate VTOR (and hopefully they will like it). Also, I notice Second Life has their own Resident’s Fansites section, which I will be submitting on our group’s behalf soon.

Lastly, contests can be good for generating interest and excitement in a new blog. I noticed a new network site called BlogParty is running a contest where they’ll pick out the best post that links to their site and award them with $250 USD:
