The new year is upon us; what are your plans for new years eve? Are you going out on the town or are you going to enjoy a virtual world experience? I am not much of a real life partier, but will probably spend a little time in Secondlife for new year.

There are so many events happening on New Years Eve that finding a good event may be difficult, because the shear number of them will take you aback. Actually it was my intention to give a breif rundown of each event, but I have to face the fact there is not nearly enough time between now and New years for me to attempt to do such. So lest us suffice to say there are parties attired from beach wear (or less) to black tie formal, from DJed events to live performances. Live Music which is what I have decided to try to focus on.

The very first thing I ran a search for in live music was to see if Johnny99 Gumshoe ( see article johnny99 Gumshoe Blues or Rock? ) was playing an event. I knew he is just to good not to be playing somewhere in Real life on New Years Eve; guess I was just hoping that someone would think to simulcast his live event into Secondlife like they are doing at Luxor Stage, simulcasting Jack Crowne and the Coronas (secondlife avatar Ronnie Carr) is doing at 7:00 PM (PST) from the Red Lion Hotel Ballroom in downtown Boise Idaho. (I have never heard this group, but like the idea, so plan on attending this one) (General Event)

Beginning at 8:00 pm pst will be all DJed event at the Skybar Nightclub featuring DJ Romell Chilly C and Chicago Music Promotions (Please note music Will contains explicit content not suitable for children.)

Omni’s Anime Club (Mature Event) is having a party and states live music, but nothing else except to IM djomnifusion snickerdoodle for a tp, so I am assuming this will be a djed event.
Performing live at the Blarney Stone (Mature Event) between 11 PM PST and Midnight will be Ricardo Sprockett then DJ Gladriel Fouquet will take over for the next hour.
and finially.

The Linden Explosion is being held at the Terrace Room (Mature Event) Where there will be Live DJ’s, Two dance rooms with different music and 10,000 lindes given away.

I think if you are not going to party in Real life you should have no trouble find a Secondlife party to attend.

Here is wishing you all a HAPPY and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!

[…]     I usually spend my New Years Eve home with my friends or family watching parties on TV. But this year I wondered what kind of events people were attending in Second Life. I started reading a fellow VTOR author, weirdharold, post about New Years Events. I first attended the Jack Crowne and the Coronas at the Luxor Stage for a couple of minutes but wanted a more personal live music than a simulcast. I did some searches for more live music and found Cylindrian Rutabaga singing at the Elbow Room which is a very small bar for the event but it was still fun to crowd in this place and listen to her beautiful singing.
