Here’s a good use of HTTP, via Second Style Fashionista:

Sol’s system fetches the current Lindex average every hour, and updates in world prices every 24 hours based on a fixed dollar amount set in the item’s description. I think an interesting side effect of more and more content creators moving to something like this will be a new consciousness among consumers of the daily exchange rate flux — something most of us only think about when we’re buying Lindens off the Lindex.

Interested?

Where at and how much for can you buy this Vendex vendor system? You can do a search for Sol Columbia like I did, or just visit Sol Industries (Igbo 107,144,32) [SLurl]. The picture above shows where it was located as of this writing and the Vendex vendor system was selling for L$1,000. Just right click the picture on the wall and pay it L$1,000 and you’ll be given a box with the Vendex contents which are a setup notecard, instructions and the Vendex server script.
