For my part, I'm so new to SL that when I see someone building, anything, I stop to watch to see if there's anything I can learn. If the builder is actually making decent progress as opposed to just goofing around with prim torture or something, I find it really fascinating. The vid of Suzanne Vega's guitar being made and some of the other vids of builds on Youtube really inspired me, but it's nice to catch people in world conjuring up their creations. I really like the idea of builder events. Though from my experience I like to build in as lag-free an environment as possible, so I'm cautiously optimistic that such a thing would become more common.
