Second Life is running a promotion from now until March 16 for those who want to gift a premium membership to someone, via the SL forums:

Starting today through March 16th everyone that either gives or receives the gift of a Premium account will receive a special gift; one of three different St. Patrick’s Day party hats to remind them of your gift. This hat isn’t just any hat by the way, because when hats are delivered on March 17th you will discover a fun surprise awaits you.
