The Matrix Casino

I happened to be in the exploring mood over the weekend. Though I wasn’t looking for a casino, I found a teleport to one and decided to check it out. The Matrix Casino can be found in the shinda sim(16,49,39).

If you your eyes can handle the tripping textures, most of the machines here boast a 90% or better payout. From the little I played I would have to attest to that. There are a few vendor spots (some yet to be filled). There are freebie tubes that resemble a star trek teleporter, and prize balls floating all over the parcel. There is are also the favorite of most SL’ers, camping pads. Though these are more like floating meditation pads.

The casino also offers stations in which you can watch free video feeds. There are 4-5 channels ranging from sci-fi, cartoons, music videos, classics, and comedy. I plopped down and caught a quick 3 stooges (timeless) episode.

It just happened that during my visit I ran in to the owner, Guido Columbia. He’s pretty sociable and friendly. I spent some time with him and watched him develop a game within half an hour. It was pretty much a slot wheel like the big wheel in the Price is Right. We talked a bit about scripting. I noticed he had been a member only since late 2005. He said that he was ’self taught’ as far as the ll scripting language goes. It was quite encouraging watching this object be scripted up quite quickly for someone having been born not too long ago.
