Who says getting married in Second life is cheap?

The other day TD mentioned in another post that getting married only cost $10 linden money in the second life. Well let me you I have spent a lot more than $10 l’s that is for certain. I am going to go over these costs so you can get an idea of how much money is being spent on Second Life. Remember I came to Second life to see about making money not spending it. Ok, over the last week I have been planning a wedding so I have spent 3000 on a custom wedding ring set, 7000 on a wedding site which includes most but not all of the wedding site needs including photographer, preacher, reception, invitations etc…, around 500 a piece for Tuxes for the wedding party totaling around 2000, and we decided a new beginning called for new land without old memories… causing us to find a new location for her 9000 msq. and I added another 5000 msq costing me another 30,000 and a tier fee recurring at 25 a month. I know I am forgetting some things… like for the honeymoon… well that hasn’t been finalized as of yet but one place wanted 12000 for 12 hours access to the land…. and had no more than our home has now… I Im’ed several other honeymoon places wanting to compare prices but haven’t had them returned yet…. great way for them to do business isn’t it? Ok maybe I have gone a little overboard, but I didn’t get the “best” anything, except maybe the custom made wedding set which I am still waiting on. Yes I tried to pick out nice, really nice… hell how many time do you get married? Now lets add all that up and keeping in mind that none of these figures count what she has spent, and what friends are spending throwing my bachelor party and her bachelorette party… and see where that $10 has led…. that is 42,000 lindens or $146.31 at the current market rate and that doesn’t count my 25 buck a month land tier fee. Remember I didn’t come here to spend money… yet I am spending… there is money to be had… it is just finding your niche and working it. I sure need to find mine….. Quick.
