If you paid to be in a group to “make a statement”, then serves you right to lose you money. There are many groups that “make a statement” and are free. You paid to get info on WHERE to find open camping chairs. The founder of the Group saw a scam and ran with it. You got sucker’ed and now your mad…boo hoo…i want my money back…

I am sure you got some money out of the deal. So kiss that $5 bucks goooodbye and move on.
As for changing the terms of the group. all is fair, 1) the founder never stated he/she/it would inform it’s membership of changes (starting to smell like a scam) 2) a few lines of a charter, “we are the nice guys” pay us money. (yeah, the smell is getting stronger) 3) no website or home to hold meeting or exchange info..(yep….a BIG pile of POOH!)

I am sure you UNDERSTAND “buyer beware”….”a sucker born every sec”….
psst…I got a PC I can sell you? it’s only $500 USD…what type? nah don’t worry it good…$500 USD only…don’t worry I am a good person. rofl…

Ok, in defense of Darius, I need to point out that some posters are missing the point. It’s not to debate camping vs. buying lindens or alts vs. bots, but that the group owner apparently ejected memb ers after changing the rules without notice, which is a legitimate SL topic. And I can personally attest to Darius not being a bot! hee hee!

I never said that I put my avie on autopilot. Reread the post. I said that I keep different hours than most. When I’m not in a camp chair, there’s no need to sit there and tell someone that there’s an open chair, now is there? When I am, there’s no point since most people are asleep so there’s no need.

So thus, all that stuff about “being a bot” just went out the window. Gee. Anything else?

Let’s see… buying Lindens. Uhh.. no. Gamble, yes, just ask Algeard Quamar. He’s raked in more money than he can count from me, and I still camp out at his place. So your beggar/bot thing doesn’t apply.

Well, if you don’t chat while you’re camping, you’re proving you’ve just put your av on autopilot, and you’re effectively being a bot yourself. So if you weren’t getting the IMs or the chat announcements, even though you were logged in and camping, then you were effectively doing the bot thing yourself.

If you don’t like bots, don’t be one.

The amount of Lindens you get camping is so little, why do you even bother? Unless you’re running a dozen alts and bots and really raking in the Lindens, you might as well just buy Lindens with your debit card or whatever and just enjoy yourself instead of playing beggar/bot.
