What makes Duels different than most other PvP MMORPG these days is that you don’t have to get too involved. You can play in your browser, which isn’t that innovative, but you can schedule duels for when you aren’t around.

Duels

Duels is currently in open beta testing, free to play, and thus players will encounter a few rough spots like broken quests and depending on the hour website slowdowns.

Duels

It didn’t take me very long to advance my Duels character Odusorf to level 8.

Duels

As with every other RPG, my teenage kids have higher level characters than me. Hey, they have the summer to sit around and play games and I’ve got work.

Duels

One of the other annoyances with Duels is that you can see the results in your win/loss column before actually watching the text or Flash animation of your duel. Kind of takes away from the fun.

Duels

Wasn’t Second Life supposed to be working on a more interactive website that wouldn’t require downloading and running the software? Sort of an SL-lite? Playing games in a browser may not be as immersive an experience, but it’s a lot more convenient.

On your next break and if you’re the same or close level, feel free to challenge me to a duel. You’ll probably win.
