Dolmere Talamasca has posted a “not-a-meme challenge” which I think is an excellent idea. This is the fifth challenge they have placed on their blog and the first that has really caught my attention.

The Challenge: ” Post a how to article that a new user of Second Life may find useful.” Any topic that may be interesting to anybody else. No matter how simple or complex you may want it to be. Anything that you take for granted could be of great value to someone of less experience than you.

We all know how steep the learning curve is when beginning the Second Life experience, so every little how to will be of use to someone.

I not only ask the authors here at VTOReality to reach inside them self and publish a how to article, but you the experienced readers of Virtual to Reality to write a how to also.

You the readers that don’t have a blog can participate in this helpful challenge also. Write your how to then post it in the comment section of this post, if it is a serious how to, I will then take it and post it to the main page as a How To… give you full credit (being as I haven’t discussed this with the other VTOR authors it may have to carry my by line but I will name you as the author creator) You will have a chance at the recognition of Dolmere Talamasca and I will put up $5,000 lindens out of my pocket for the best How To submitted here at VTOReality by our readers.

If you are new to Second Life and struggling with the learning curve this can be a chance for you to simply write about the last thing you learned which gave you trouble to have a chance at the $ lindens.

If you need to put in photos or screenshots take them and note that you have them, and I will contact you to get them and they will be used in your article.

The winner will be determined by: winning the recognition of Dolmere Talamasca as their choice for this challenge and failing that, the authors here at VTOR will collectively choose a winner at our following Friday meeting. I am assuming this challenge from Dolmere Talamasca will end next Sunday, the fourth of March. If we have to choose a VTOR winner of this challenge; it will be discussed and determined at our Friday March 9, 2007 meeting.

Here is hoping all of you will accept this challenge and many wonderful posts will be made.
