HighStreet 5 busting a move… but not in the US
Dance off gaming is coming to Asia. Unfortunately, it looks like the game itself is only situated for Malaysia, Singapore, and the Phillipines for now. Developed by Snail Games.
If you’re not sure what to expect, let me explain how it works. Basically, think of this like Second Life, where you have to buy clothes, and accessories to make you avatar all nice looking and such. You go around the city and you basically make friends (thus MMO) and you basically go around and meet people and break out dancing. While, it’s not exactly a b-boy dance off, it still looks like fun.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure how long-lived a dancing sim would really do for me. While at the beginning, it would definitely be something like a b-boy dance off (or at least I would create something similar), there is only so much you can take of games that are rhythm based. And bringing rhythm games to the MMO world definitely is a change from your usual fantasy bash and smash, but will there be a long-lasting love?
I couldn’t tell ya. Since I don’t live in any of the three countries above.

Not sure about a dance MMO but then again people love MMO’s, myself included
but not sure if their is enough meat to the plot of dancing to sustain a game/community…wish it luck though

Maybe I’m a special little snowflake, but I live in the US and I’ve been playing this game on the Singaporean servers. It’s really fun, especially when you set your controller up for it (using Xpadder for PC) and you get exchange rate benefits. But I think I’m the only Western player in that place.
