cartoonlife_001.jpg In recent times, I’m chasing down a new project and came across Cartoon Life. If you’ve never wandered across cartoon avatars, they’re obviously a lot easier to build since most of them seem to cost a lot less than realistic avatars. Almost by a factor of ten.

What’s interesting about Cartoon Life is that they have a wide variety of different types of avatars from Inspector Gadget to The Simpsons. The store itself is well placed with a wall of of readable descriptions along with main displays in the middle. Yes, you see that picture of Stewie from Family Guy. I mean who wouldn’t want Stewie?

Unfortunately, they didn’t carry the specific thing I was looking for, but it didn’t stop me from actually pulling out the wallet (that I stole…. remember, I’m still homeless and all), and bought myself a few avatars on someone else’s dime

This is also one of the few stores I’ve found that actually carries furniture and housing that replicates the cartoon dwellings.  Moe’s tavern?  No problem.   And that’s pretty nifty when you think about how they’re creating a 3D model from only what you can glean from the television.  It’s like recreating a 3D model of something with only a 2D picture set.  I’d imagine the complexity of the builds are not as difficult as realism, but it’s cute.   Now to find an anime based avatar set… hmm…
