I love Asian games. For one, they’re free to play. And they throw the whole micropayment angle in to try to get you to pay all sorts of things. KartRiders is no different from the rest of the Asian games in this sense, and is part of the vast DirectX library that these corporations seem to pump out in what seems like every week. KartRiders is extremely profitable in South Korea and apparently is in direct competition with Starcraft.

KartRiders is is a racing game that is heavily influenced by Mario Kart or that type of racing game where there’s are multiple tracks that you race on and you can collect items where it can give you the advantage over other racers. Have we heard of these types before? Oh yeah… we have.

But the true catch here is much like other micropayment games, you can trick out your guy. Different karts, different items, and I’m sure there’s to be different costumes. Reminds me of other games that I’ve played in the past that are very similar in the business model, but concept of game was different (Gunbound comes to mind).

As usual, not only is the gameplay superinfluenced by Japanese games, the art is also in a similar cutesy anime style. So if you’re a racing game type lover, be sure to give it a shot and download it. You might have found a new love for this steering wheel.
