Mobo presenter comes to Second Life
With a fear that I am treading on the toes of fellow bloggers on VTOR by straying into new territory, I get word that reggae superstar Shaggy is due to meet fans in Second Life on Wednesday before hosting the Mobos with Jamelia.
The idea of an audience with Shaggy was developed by the digital marketing agency Silence, and Second Life experts the Guild. Kaoru Sato, from The Guild, says: “This is a first for Second Life, and it has called for international collaboration.” The Guild have rented an island from Phreak Radio, and recruited the Australian TV company SLCN to film the event. “Both are trusted names in Second Life media and we’re delighted to be working with them.“
“If people want to come along,” added Kaoru, “they should join the ‘Shaggy’s Crew’ group in SL or contact my avatar, Kei Mars”.
The performance will be broadcast live by SLCN.TV (Second Life Cable Network) who stream the coverage of the actual in-world performance out to the world wide web via SLCN.TV as well as onto hundreds of screens located in Second Life.
You can meet Shaggy in Second Life on the Phreak Isle from 10.00am on Wednesday 19th September. Shaggy’s album Intoxication is released on October 22nd. Join the group or contact Kei Mars for an invite.

Can I just add that the event is at 10am UK time, which is 2am SL Time, just to cut out any ambiguity. Thanks!

Shaggy’s appearance has been postponed
