Review of the Opening of Sterling Vineyard
The Grand Opening of the Sterling Vineyards [slurl] took place yesterday(Jan 13, 2007). Sterling Vineyards [slurl] is a gorgeously beautiful romantic area which I predict will be the home of thousands of weddings in Second Life. The Vineyards (although I never saw the first sign of a grape) has just about anything romantic a couple could want, from a traditional church to a snowy ice skating area, not to mention the waterfalls, fountains, streams and ponds. I have to admit, although I did spend 11 hours on the sim yesterday attending the live music event, I haven’t spent enough time looking around at all the features, I certainly didn’t find the hidden cave, but I didn’t see a romantic beach area. There is a shopping area which has 27 stores, several are still available for rent, which cater to wedding needs.

I spoke with Cryene Madonna, the creator (not necessary builder of every item) of Sterling Vineyard who told me she created the Vineyard “to try and provide a nice music venue to cater to those who perform and have a love for the Live music as well as provide another option or choice for those who opt for the romantic side of secondlife, such as get married ‘at what i hope is a fair price’, or just being romantic.” Cryene plans on holding live music venues at least 5 nights/days a week (no not all day) entertaining the growing public with class, music, beauty and romance. (The no not all day was for my benefit as only she and I stayed for every entertainer who was able to TP to the sim.)
There were twelve performers scheduled to appear from 9:00 AM PST until 8:00 PM PST, but due to teleporting issues the last performance was canceled. Ten out of the eleven “acts” I saw yesterday were the first time I have seen them, but hope to attest to the fact I saw some of the finest talent in Second Life.
My intention was to give a review here on each of the performers, but have decided to belay that because I would have a hard time coming up with eleven different ways to say amazing, great voice, entertaining, well worth seeing, etc… I did manage to make contact and speak with each of them and am going to work on writing a profile story along the lines of Meet Pianist Louis Volare aka (in real life) Louis Landon, but have decided at this time to simply list the performers who performed yesterday and say each is extremely talented and is well worth the investment of your time to attend one of their performances.
- Mel Cheeky (female)
- Charles Coleman (male)
- Markpa Twang (male)
- SanityInn Wind (male)
- Etherian Kamaboko (male)
- Singincountry Commander (male)
- Lyndon Heart (male)
- Dallas Horsefly (female)
- Kim Seifert (female)
- Bill and Pam Havercamp (male & female)
- Push Chandler (male)
After eleven hours of being in one place, and a line up of talent like those listed above I was disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to see and hear Nance Brody due to the technical problems Second Life was experiencing in their teleport system. Nance Brody was online and wanting to perform, but was unable to get to the sim.
I have to say I had an extremely enjoyable time attending this “all day” event…. Wish all of you who were unsucessfuly trying to get to the sim could have been there!

As a performer I will say Sterling Vineyards was one of the nicest venues I’ve played in SL. The grounds are gorgeous, the audience was WONDERFUL, and I had a great time performing there!!! I hope to have the pleasure of playing there again soon!!
Hats off to Cryene for building such a beautiful sim!!

Well,,, ooops !!! LOL
I thought I was sending the writer a private e-mail re: typo on my name …. anyway….
Yes, Sterling is a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere to sing at…. I was fortunate to test stream with Cryene prior to the event, and she asked me to sit in…. my 3rd time singing on SL, and I enjoyed doing it at Sterling Vineyards….
Hats off to you Cryene, you did a great job organizing this event and talent list …
I’m looking forward to singing there again..

Got the ‘L’ changed to an ‘I’, Sanity. You were one of the acts I heard a bit of and enjoyed Turn the Page. I think that was one of the songs you played. You had some nice reverb effects going.

Sanity Inn Wind, Sorry for the misspelling… I debated with myself at the time I was taking notes at the concert… Your title over your head in Second Life is the culprit of my confusion (as if confusion is an unnatural condition for me) I wrote it both ways with a “l” and with an “I” and decided it was an “I”, but in my hurry to copy and paste… I grabbed the wrong one and didn’t notice and to be honest really wasn’t sure I would get it correct anyway.
I am glad you stopped by, read the article, and helped me become certain… and here at VTOR we do not mind any corrections or even negative being made in the comment section… as long as they are on topic… in fact I would much rather know than to leave anything that causes unintended insults or troubles to a focus of an article.
As for as that reverb, I did not hear it … at least not enough to make note of nor remember. I thought your performance and sound was excellent and look forward to attending another event in which your perform.
