Review: Wii Game Cheats
[Side note: Multiplayer-wise the Wii has all the functionality for MMORPGs. Unfortunately, while the hardware is there, there really hasn't been the software. The closest you get to multiple user interaction is through games such as Wii Sports, where there's Mii interaction. Nintendo is perhaps too quiet about if they're going to go the way of online worlds with their Mii based users accounts. Will this change in the future, we sure hope so.]
There is no doubt that there is a multitude of game cheat sites online. Wii Game Cheats, is managed by Adams Media LLC out of Houston, Texas and is focused strictly on cheats, videos, and guides for the Nintendo Wii. The interesting thing about this is that it focuses on a fairly new gaming medium in an effort to gain a strong foothold as a strong player inside the niche. Question is, can this gaming site make it to the top of the mountain or struggle with countless of other sites out there at the bottom of the totem pole?
Design
Built on top of WordPress, there’s no doubt that at least that this was a template for a blog. The color scheme of predominantly blues with accent colors of green on top of a darker grey background draws your eyes to the center of the page where the content resides. It looks to be a typical three-column format with the right column as of this review. The left side breaks out Recent posts, categories and the search bar. Usual template. You can also deduce from the color choices that it was aimed at the male audience due to the choice of cooler colors and lack of warm colors throughout.
Content
I personally like the fact that they’re mixing mediums and using some video howtos via embedded YouTube videos. However, it’s somewhat obvious that they’re not giving credit to whomever is finding the cheats. For example:

Notice anything familiar here? I looked at a well-known site in comparison. Unfortunately, with WGC, there is no credit given even though the wording is very close to verbatim.
Overall: Having a Wii, I personally would like to see WGC grow a bit more. If there was a better way of searching codes, or categories, and a way to choose the games that you’re having issues with, then I’d be more inclined to use the site. Whether or not the content crediting (or lack thereof) was intentional or not, that doesn’t give me a warm and fuzzy when visiting the site. However, it seems to be young and up and coming blog. With a little bit of work and tweaks, it could very potentially be one of the great leaders in Wii cheats.

[...] Another concern was what if we decline the review, will this mean that we don’t receive any more paid review requests? As it turned out, before even making our decision, three more paid review requests came in. One of them Darius has already written on Wii Game Cheats. [...]
