Updated list of other ‘real life’ MMO mixed with MMORPG

The website mmorpg.com maintains an updated list of Massive Multiplayer Online Games providing their own rating of the virtual worlds and allowing members to rate on a scale of 1 (worst) to 10 (best). Second Life is listed on the category of “real life” joined by the other virtual worlds:
- Oz Online - Free to download, no monthly charges
- RAN Online - Free to download, no monthly charges
- The Sims Online - $$ to buy/download, $$ monthly charge
- There - $$ to buy/download, no monthly charges
As of this writing The Sims Online has the worst user rating (4.6) while RAN Online (7.4) slightly edges out Second Life (7.2) which is #2 out of 5. Possibly Second Life’s nearest similar competitor (reading Clay Shirky?) on the list is There (6.2).
The only one of these I’ve tried out besides SL is There and that was back in October 2003 when I took advantage of a lifetime membership for $29.95. As it turned out those 30 bones were wasted because beyond the first month or two, I didn’t stick around.
This list is incomplete comparing to some other virtual worlds we’ve covered in the other MMO category, particularly the more adult MMOs. Nicktropolis which launched yesterday isn’t listed yet either.

Hi,
If you still have that lifetime account, and are interested in selling - I’d definitely be interested in buying it from you! Please email me if you’re interested.
Thanks
Tim
