Hi. They are still out there. It just happened to me. The name he used was Terry Earl Mason, and the pictures were....amazing. LOL I thought there was something fishy that this fantastic looking man would come looking for me, but he was very convincing. I got the letter too, and a whole lot of other pretty words. That's how I started tracking down the scam. I had been going through a bad breakup, and the timing was perfect. Thank god I was smart enough to start getting suspicious when I did. I'm not rich, and they wouldn't have been able to get me for much, but still what little I have I want to keep. I wish they could all get what they deserve too, but lol at least it got my mind off the breakup.

Hi
I had a similar experience with Anita Rhodes on Myspace. Said she was an antique dealer from Latimer, Iowa. Said she inherited the business when her father was killed in a car accident. At the time of her writing she was on a business trip to Nigeria. She would be returning in three weeks and wanted to meet me. She then said she was in the hospital with malaria and needed money for her medication. I asked her all kinds of questions. She knew all about Latimer, and give me the name of the hospital, where it was locatedin Nigeria, her doctor's name. cell phone number and e-mail address. He confirmed her story. Everything she said about Latimer checked out. I just about got taken in until I learned that if it had anything to do with Nigeria there was a 90 cercent chance I was being scammed. She told me exactly where to find her father's grave in Latimer. So I went there, surprise the cemetery did not exist and no one had ever heard of her. She wrote me back asking if I was going to let her die over there. I told here I just got back from Latimer and maybe she could be buried with her father there. Never heard from "her" again.

I had the same experience, except he was a man and I am a woman. He cut and pasted part of that same letter. He is going by Kelvin Williams from Cordova, TN. These people should burn in Hell!

Catherine, believe me I am aware of those things and many more of the adjectives to which you allude ...in fact one of the best and worst traits of redheads is their burning passion and sensualness! Whew , is it hot in here?

Ummmmm Harold,
Your first clue she wasn't who she pretended to be is the simple known fact that no redheaded female is THAT nice. Trust me on this. We are moody, impatient, capricious, quick-tempered, feisty, fun, frustrating, curious and too many other adjectives to list here. As a redhead connoisseur you are supposed to know these things ... ;-).
Sincerely,
Catherine the redhead

Hey, hey, hey!

Pretty sure I asked Harold about that one time. It is paying homage to the classic Fat Albert character I believe, Caliandris. Might want to address the origins of your name thing in your VTOR Author page, Harold, letting people know in fact that you're not really "weird" ;)

Hmmm... I've said it before and I'll say it again... if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

That said, I think that if you are looking to find potential female friends in SL, dropping the Weird part of your name might be a good move. It's like having a sign on your head saying "I may be a touchingly ironic self-deprecating lovable guy... or maybe I have a cupboard full of underwear I stole off people's washing lines...."
