Battlefield Heroes

If you’ve ever played Battlefield 1942 or Battlefield 2 then you’d recognize this series from the same publisher, Electronic Arts.

EA has done a great job in chasing after another series for Europe and Americas under the “free game” scenario and drawing off of the micropayment business model that has done so incredibly well in Asia and as they have shown in their experiments with the FIFA brand in Korea. With Battlefield Heroes, it seems like it’s a cell shaded shooter game based in World War 2, and is slightly reminiscent of Team Fortress 2.

It seems that there isn’t too much out there on this game yet, but definitely interesting enough to garner a lot of attention as US publishers start gathering behind this new business model. Should be released sometime in the Summer of 2008.
