Cryptic takes captain seat as Star Trek Online developer
Engage. Warp Speed. Whatever Trek phrasing you want to use, as rumored, Cryptic Studios has taken the reins for developing this MMORPG and has posted a some tasty screenshots at startrekonline.com.
Cryptic’s resume includes City of Heroes/Villains.

Cryptic took the safe route and set the game to take place during the 25th century, the TNG era. Sure to please ALMOST everyone … What I can’t wait to find out is what Star Trek famed races will be featured. Cardassian, Vulcan, Andorian, Ferengi or hey, maybe Gorns?
Count me in whether they are in the game or not, but I’d dig playing as a Gorn. No release date has been announced. Hopefully this game will see completion before the 25th century.
