Email harvesters not welcome at VTOR
Just a friendly reader reminder that we have honeypots setup at VTOR to capture real world email harvesters. We’re trying to do our part to discourage the use of these types of bots. I was reminded of this a few minutes ago when I receive the following email notification:
You can find information about harvesters captured by our honeypots here. This got me thinking about similar traps that could be laid in the virtual world to thwart harvesting bots. Have you seen some good scripts or techniques used in Second Life to help identify and fill with bogus data harvesting bots?
