Getting sucked into Cabal
Alas, another game has got me in its grasp.
I can’t really help myself really. It’s one of those “free to play” models and I had already written a preview of the game before. Unfortunately for me, that little bit was enough to suck me right in.
Cabal is a worldwide MMO that is now also supported in North America (previously it was just Europe and Asia). What’s interesting about this game is that it reminds me of the gameplay from Devil May Cry. It’s a hack and slash type role-play, but there are guilds that duel and there is a lot of things that can be done. Mainly, if you finish your quests each level, then you’ll level up pretty quickly which makes it pretty interesting on a single player level since usual power-leveling gets awfully tedious and boring.
The skill sets are amazing and you can actually take on multiple types of abilities based on what quests you complete. There are professional crafts, along side your usual fighting which allows some players to actually make certain types of armor/weapons very powerful by adding skill upgrades or characteristic upgrades.
Truthfully, the game is actually a great beginner MMO game if you’ve never played. Everything is fairly straight forward and while all games take some getting used to in the beginning, it’s actually very easy to follow and can be recommended to any type of player. Those that are looking for vast lands to explore will probably have to wait since so far, I’ve only been to three different worlds even though I’ve already achieved level 40. Overall? This game really has me by my horns.
And it’s been a long, long time since that’s happened.
