hellokittyonline.jpg Everyone’s favorite cutesy kitty has made her way to the online realm. Sanrio Digital has announced that the closed beta that has just begun, and the production launch shall be sometime in third or fourth quarter of 2008.

What’s interesting is that they’ve integrated an online world for Sanrio along with their merchandising so that you can not only play online but you can also access Sanriotown.com, which is their commerce portal. On top of that, this is one of the few free online MMORPGs specifically targeting a demographic between females in their preteen to twenties.

Your usual type of MMORPG things can be done, including skill sets, owning property, making your avatar all prettied up, and you can even run a farm. It almost sounds like one of the Sim games.

Not a game that I’m exactly going cuckoo with excitement over, but then again, I’m not within that target demographic. For those that are though, hopefully this rings your bell.
