The fine line between the real world and Second Life grew just a bit thinner today: I’ve been getting notices all day from my Fashion Consolidated group (one-stop shopping for shop owners to post announcements and freebies) for Black Friday sales. I’ll be interested to find out whether SL economic statistics show that the timeĀ  between Thanksgiving and Christmas is also the make-it-or-break-it perid for inworld marketers the way it is for RL retailers.

If you’re not in the US, “Black Friday” is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year for RL retailers, because it come Friday after Thanksgiving, when many people are off work to have a four-day weekend, and has been thought to be the day retailers’ balance sheets moveĀ  from red (in debt) to black (profit).
