I'm not fond of the barriers nor am I of prim walls around plots. I'm ok with strangers using my items or property whenever I am not home (unless they are unwanted- in which case they are probably banned).
As you said the concept of both barriers are psychological as I can cam into the property. I've found autoreturn and no object entry to be more useful than lines for griefer/stray prim management but that is just me.

Wow HazeLee. You seem to be a bit heavy on the defensive side of things...
<quote>Thank you for the update on the property I own in Monti - the red barrier lines are up because the land is set for group members to use as a sandbox and I don’t want a lot of trash from griefers on my land.</quote>...You can manage group land with out these types of barriers by allowing/denying group member permissions.

I wouldn't be too concerned about banner farms here. This prim has been pretty tranquil (Except for the <a href="http://www.vtoreality.com/2006/land-land-everywhere-land/134/" rel="nofollow">invasion of land sale signs</a> a while back).

As far as the actual use of barriers, we could have been contacted at any time. None of us have received any kind of IM. Nobody really looked at who owned the land because frankly the question posed in this post was a general question to Second Lifers in general. It wasn't a personal attack.

I've owned some personal land (and 2 casino's a while back). Most neighbors were willing to talk just about anything and were willing to come to some civil type of compromise. They key here is to openly dialog about it. Just as any avatar that you would run into in SL. Simply barricading an adjacent parcel on 3 sides from persons flying by isn't very neighborly.

Besides... maybe we could feed the pets, or water the plants while your gone. Maybe even assist with advertising. Why burn bridges? You just never know...

Wait wait.... she thought that VTOR would put up an ad farm? hahahahahahahahaha.

*wipes tear away*

Sorry, but from my perspective, it's just laughable considering in the past, we wouldn't even take advertising money from WoW gold advertisement which actually paid pretty well from what I remember.

I also find it amusing that TD gets the third degree on follow ups to current land neighbors but there's a hypocritical statement that follows on HazeLee keeping up with the followings of her own purchases. Does it even matter if people write about your land?

Seriously amused.

HazeLee - so you own the property next to our group? Why didn't you disclose that in your first comment? I never right clicked on the land and checked out who the owner was (doh!). It seems kind of strange that you wouldn't say something though when you made your first comment.

Reading that comment makes it sound like you were just somebody random.

There hasn't been a griefing problem on this parcel in a long time. We would certainly know. I maintain that the way you are behaving in comments here is exactly the type of paranoia that illustrates my point in the post.

It's VIRTUAL land for pete's sake. Lighten up ;)

My question is, "Why are you so concerned about the land after you sold it? Do you follow up on all land that you previously owned?"

I will continue to read WorldofSL blogs in order to keep up with happenings on my land.

Well I always leave my land open. I've noticed that during my puppeteers sleep, there are actually Av's laying in my pool listening to my choice of music (as long as they do not pee in the pool it is cool...).
I ONLY close off my land when making love or during confidential talks.
