Penthouse video game reviews showing more skin is "in"
It’s been a little while since I’ve read looked at goggled any adult magazines and today checked out the newest issue of Penthouse. Was surprised, but not shocked, to learn they are doing video game reviews on the more adult titles.
Obviously video games are becoming more adult and interest in adult-related gaming continues to rise, now check out page 24 in the August issue to the right of this post and see how Penthouse is slanting their videogame coverage to their readers.
Yowsa, Ivy is “mega-busty” alright. The article doesn’t stop at Ivy, it proceeds to go through a small history of busty female game characters like Rachel from Ninja Gaiden, Kasumi from Dead or Alive, Noble Rose from Rumble Roses and Christie Monteiro from Tekken 4.
X-rated games on videogame consoles?
I’m curious — and this question is intended for mature, ADULT gamers, not those under 18 — how long before we see X-rated video games on console systems? Doubtful if this does happen the company will be Nintendo (Wii doubt it, Mario fans), but what about the Xbox 360 and PS3? Will either test these waters?
Sony might be positioned with interactive Blu-ray technology. Now that HD-DVD is out of the picture one has to wonder how motivated Sony will be to add more interactive features to Blu-ray movies. Since the PS3 doubles as a Blu-ray player, this could be one place where adult game vendors start making inroads.
Or maybe it will be the Xbox 360 with its Creator Club which allows anybody to make games might see an x-rated market emerge? I would think some type of homebrew market is the only way in the near future you’ll see x-rated games on any of the current crop of game consoles.
Have I missed out on some adult-only titles for the Xbox 360 and PS3? There have been adult games made for past systems, some of them pixelated and laughable, not erotic, like Custer’s Revenge on the Atari 2600. Adult games on console systems in 2010? Sooner? Later? What do you think?
