To sell or not all remaining land holdings in SL
My premier Second Life account comes up for renewal on January 4, 2009. Since land holdings have a 30 day window for peak tier pricing, I need to make a decision whether or not to keep my land as well as the 16m group parcel for VTOR.
This Friday at our next group meeting each VTOR author will have a chance to weigh in (vote) if we should keep this land and/or if somebody else in our group with a premium account may want to take over ownership of the land.
My first point of contact for a possible sale was our neighbor. The message I sent was as follows:
“Greetings our group owns land next to your group-owned property in Monti. We are considering selling this land and wanted to offer to you first, if you are interested. We will sell at fair market price, so not trying to get you to pay more than what it is worth. There are 16m and 144m plots next to each other and your land. Write back if interested.”
I think this is the fair way to deal with land sales.
Update 9:02am PST: Neighbor responded: uninterested, saying they were selling land next to us as well.

I’m closing the last of my sims, which has been quite difficult to do. Performance/Value ration is off, improvements (and this is measured over years + consideration of other industries entering the space + expectation of performance), combined with a too-proprietary platform (even the opensim platform isn’t an option since it’s built on the same technology). Just how things evolve, I suppose.
