As of last night (for us, it was about 7:00PM EST), the firmware for the US, version 2.41, was released which allowed Playstation 3 players everywhere to have access to the latest trophy system that basically duplicates the achievements side of XBLA. This was the 2.40 bug fix that was leaving some users in the dark when their consoles started acting bonkers.

In one fell swoop, I went and grabbed Super Stardust HD, echochrome, and LocoRoco Cocoreccho! and proceeded on trying to gain some of the trophies. After a few passes at Bomber stage for Super Stardust HD and got the Survivor trophy. It’s probably going to take me a while yet to catch up to TD on his high score on that game, but hey… give me a break. I’ve only owned it for a night!

The trophy system itself could be better, but hey… one thing at a time seems to be the way of Sony these days. Who knows when Home will even show up.

Strangely enough, I haven’t seen anything for US release on the 2.41 firmware as of yet by the more formal news sources. I’ve scooped the bigger dudes? No way. Neato skippy.
