With tears for Snake
Yes, I admit it.
A few tears fell at the end. What can I say, getting older makes me more emotional.
I finally had a chance to sit down and complete the game. Now I’m on the second round hoping to gather up some of the titles and weapons that I didn’t have a chance for the first time through since I was too busy with the storyline. Without giving anything away, I’ll have to say that this game has got to be one of the most well thought out storylines of this decade. Definitely tied all of the Metal Gear Solid games together and the research that was done has it tied directly into historical events so that it’s even somewhat believable that this could have happened.
The crazy part is that I haven’t even touched the online part of it yet. Metal Gear Online is bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4 and allows up to 16 players per game with everything from Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, to Team Sneaking Matches and Base Captures. What’s interesting here is that they took your usual team play and broke out some different types of play making it all the more interesting. Also, some of the titles and equipment can only be acquired through the online version.
Overall, this game has not only given me hours upon hours of fun and excitement, but it also has one of the better replayability ratings due to the titles and weapon acquirements and the online play. If you figure that a movie ticket costs somewhere around $9.00USD these days for about two hours of entertainment, then if you’ve spent as much time as I have with this, then you’d be getting way over your money’s worth for entertainment value.
