Weightism Fearmongers Go On Offensive Against Fat Princess
I have to say that when it comes to movies, games, or any sort of entertainment, the fact when people complain about the hurt it would cause to our youth just drives me insane.
In my opinion, it’s a matter of adults shirking responsibilities of teaching our young between what’s right and wrong instead of pushing it aside and making the responsibility for others. These same people probably want to live in a nice little sandbox somewhere safe from everything from the flu to the threat of nuclear war. But really, are you seriously telling me here that Fat Princess, made by people that obviously into sarcastic humor as I (just listen to the “insults” that the little guys have such as “frackin’ toaster”) and you know that this entire thing is just pure fun.
Yet, there apparently are people out there writing to them saying how this game is irresponsible and will effect how little kids eat. Yes, you heard me. Don’t mind the fact that you don’t teach your children about how to handle insults, or whatever. As parents, it’s your responsibility foremost, not the village as some would think. This is where someone said that if your child encounters friends that were going to jump off a cliff, would he or she? Well, it depends on their sensibility. I would imagine that parents have instilled at least the slight bit there, you never know. Maybe they never told their children that running off of the cliff like Wiley Coyote really doesn’t result in you crawling out of a hole. Or the fact that people really don’t have superpowers, or magic as much as some would love to be out of JK Rawling’s world.
I mean, seriously folks. You expect someone to pull a game because your kid might get chubbier from a sarcastic game? Please. Maybe you should be going about teaching your child about portion control. Because right now, while I am amused by how Titan Studios responded to it in a light-hearted carefree manner, I personally am disgusted with people that probably can’t impose self-control so they’re trying to create an environment where they don’t have to do so.
