So we’re kinda miffed that we have to reboot every so often because of some sort of memory leak or something going on with the PS3 browser when it dawned on us that there was another console tied to the big screen that had browsing capabilities too. That’s right, the Wiiruns the Opera browser.

So here I was all excited to think that I didn’t have to mess with the whole memory thing that I had to boot up the Wii and finally take a look and see if there were any new system updates. With nothing since the last time I had it running, I was confident that this was the solution to my problems. And so I loaded up the browser and diligently punched in the correct URL to save into my Favorites.

You could practically see the drool in slow motion as I entered in the Naruto domain and my eyes glazed over anticipating finally the moment to watch all of the episodes online legally and caught up to the Japanese episodes. I mean, seriously…. why do the other series not do the same?

Impatient, I tapped my foot as the browser slowly loaded all the right pieces. Tada! I see the episodes. I click one. Nothing happens.

Click.

Click.

What the heck? So I go over to Hulu to see perhaps if it was something on their end not connecting.

Please download the latest Adobe Flash Player.

WHAT?!! Are you kidding me? Foiled again in trying to watch video streaming legally on my HDTV, it just baffles my mind that these console developers are letting the browser totally go by the wayside when they’re trying to sell the units as Internet capable and such. There’s more to it than just gaming and the video streaming is one way to make your console into something more worthwhile than a gaming machine (and not to mention it’s already hooked up to the television so you don’t have to futz with dragging out your laptop).

Alas, apparently no one really cares about watching streams.
