My real Name is John and I’ve been a computer programmer since I was around 12 years old. I’m 36 years old now and have been a webmaster for over 10 years. I have only been writing posts for blogs since about a year ago. I have always felt I could write better than I can explain my thoughts with my voice so blogs are fun for me. At this time I am using second life as a vision to the future. I want to experience everything in the eyes of a visitor, game player or a programmer. I like writing about the events in second life that interest me. I will also write about scripting or technical minded stuff also. I don’t have the resources or time to start a business in Second Life. I see it as too risky at this time but I do see a chance of making money for the future. So my posts will not be overly business minded at this time.
Ever since I was a child I loved playing adventure and strategy games. I loved playing the old adventure games from Sierra. Once I got to college and found the internet I started to play MUDS, Multi-User Dungeon, which I played for hours! At that time I used to be a System Operator on a few Bulletin Board Systems which I first heard of a game called Tele-arena. This game brought me into the worlds of Role Playing Game or RPG. In the 90’s I always thought it would be great to find a virtual reality world on the internet but the worlds back then were very simple and nothing excited me. That was when I found the runescape classic which had great gameplay but the graphics weren’t exciting enough. So I spent the rest of my time working on my business until I found Runescape 2. Then I found out about Second Life a year later which was exactly what I was looking for. I loved the idea of making my own games or items and having others use them. This also intrigued my business side which I still haven’t figured out a good business plan I can do in this virtual world.
I started working with computers as a System Operator on a local BBS in my college years. This was the time I started learning about businesses and what it takes to be successful. Once I had enough money to start a webpage I put all my efforts in learning about making webpages. I now have many pages with advertising for many stuff on the internet. I have some blogs that I write for and always looking for something interesting to do on the internet. Second Life is one of those things that can have a bright future and still looking for a good way of making money in the virtual world.
