Not sure how long this promotion is going on since Sprint currently isn’t exactly in the black with all of the people they have laid off so who knows how much money they’re pumping into their marketing. In fact, I’m not even going to ask why they’re pushing Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic since it really doesn’t have anything to do with Sprint itself. That I know of anyways.

But regardless, the game is free and the promotion is probably for a limited time. So get it while you can before it’s gone. You can never say “no” to a free PS3 game from the Playstation Network, now can you? At least I know I can’t. For sure.

Fists of Plastic itself is really just for local play and there is no online multiplayer if anyone was wondering. Outside of that though, it does have some pretty interesting graphics and definitely one of the more interesting PSN games that I’ve run across. It might even get me through until Fat Princess comes into action in June. Maybe. Did I mention it was F-R-E-E?

Wait one second. “Used?” Since when did the grand ole’ B&N sell used? So I decided to investigate further. Who knew? It seems like there’s some sort of partnership between Gamestop and Barnes & Nobles to provide some extra provisions. I would imagine that if B&N can sell what GS sells at 15% more, then that means that they’re cutting into their profit margins to create this partnership. Not that the used market doesn’t have gigantic margins as it is anyways.

So if you’re looking to save a little more, take a look at the B&N link to Save 15% off Used Games! Not entirely sure if there would be anything there that suits your fancy, but it’s definitely worth a look at least if you need to save a buck. In this economy? Even gamers are looking for deals and trying to be as frugal as possible. Yeah yeah. What can I say.

Receiving 2 free Everquest & Everquest II exclusive in-game items is a big carrot to throw in front of me these days. Still don’t have much time for games, but when I do have time to play I’m still spending a lot of time playing EQII. Got my Ratonga Necromancer up to level 65 and 59 Sage in tradeskilling which is like 30 levels higher in both than I’ve ever had any character before. Also started a third character on The Bazaar (one of only two exchange servers), which I’ll cover by separate post someday. The offer I’m talking about is for the first 1,000 to subscribe to Beckett Massive Online Gamer magazine pictured below which I learned about from the Everquest II blog.

I looked everywhere for a digital subscription option and didn’t find one. If somebody reading knows where one exists, please use the comment to tell me about it. I tried searching Zinio and looked over the Beckett Massive Online Gamer website (http://www.massiveonlinegamer.com/) and no dice. The thing is I’m just not into non-digital magazine subscriptions. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my digital ones and am trying to be as paper-free as possible in both business and personal.

There are other advantages to having digital subscriptions like:

the ability to easily search through article archives

web links which actually lead me to a website on click

no physical space hogging

environment friendly

Still, must admit that the free in-game item deal is calling!

There are two neat things about this. First, if you didn’t already buy the downloadable game, it’s one of the few games that has been released directly on PSN. I almost want to say it’s the only one that should probably be on Bluray but isn’t. Which is pretty neat. On top of that, your usual sixty dollar game was dropped to forty-five from the get go. now it’s only thirty for a limited time.

I will admit that I haven’t purchased this game, but have played the demo. The reason behind not purchasing it was that on PS2, I had the original Siren. Even with a Gameshark, I begrudgingly admit to not being able to run through one of the levels. Yeah yeah, I know. I suck. You can all stop laughing now. But with the Blood Curse demo, I’ve found that the graphics are actually incredible and it has some decent voice acting. My favorite of the game though is the fact that the lights fall on the darkness in an eerie but realistic fashion.

The story arc isn’t as creepy as Fatal Frame in my opinion, but it’s still one of the few survival horror series that I’ve been watching over the years. And for the price, who can complain?

Promotion ends November 6th.

This controller is being sold for a little under $41USD on Amazon which is one of the lowest prices you can get currently. Most stores actually sell this controller for about $50USD without tax. So immediately, you’re already saving at least nine dollars here. Why would you need an extra controller? Well, considering the fact that a lot of the PSN games are two players and not to mention you can have way more than one controller hooked up wirelessly to the PS3…. and, who wouldn’t want one of the new ones if you haven’t upgraded to the DualShock 3 yet? I have to say that the first generation SixAxis controller is great but still doesn’t stand a chance against this one. Just me though.

And on top of that you get 1 month free. That means that you’re only buying the membership for about $3USD a month. Not bad at all.

So if you’re in need of extending your membership, go and grab one of these cards now. Let me put it this way. If you get it now, you won’t have to worry about membership at least until October of 2009. And if you happen to renew or buy more, then it could be extended so much more indefinitely. All the while, you could gain more achievements and laugh at your friends while they fumble around for their mommy’s credit cards trying to renew. Oh, yes. It will happen. Just you wait.

UPDATE: With some more review, it seems like this card is for new accounts only. According to the reviews. If anyone actually knows how it works, feel free to append in comments since I don’t personally own an Xbox or Live account so … obviously…

Seeing lots of talk about the new .ME top level domain that you can register at various places online, notably Go Daddy. I decided to see if virtual.me is taken already and, of course, it is.

A number of people using the service FriendFeed are saying their experience with GoDaddy has resulted in failure, so maybe whomever snagged virtual.me will get denied.

I haven’t gotten that excited about nor used my walled for registering under any other TLD than .com, .net and .org. Must admit that aweso.me sounds kinds of interesting but multiple people have already claimed they have bought that through GoDaddy.

What kind of cool virtual world / gaming domain names can you think of that involve the .me. Or do you think that’s a good one for branding your virtual world identity? Or is it, like I think of the vast majority of alternate TLDs besides the three mentioned above and country-specific domains like .ca and .uk, are just lining the pockets of domain registrars?
